    SFU Surrey Meeting
Let's Talk Volunteering is a TED Talks-inspired conference featuring 3 keynote speakers, each of whom will share their stories about how volunteering played an integral role in shaping their lives and journeys to success in their respective careers. For more in-depth bios of the speakers, please visit our website (www.youthtransformingsociety.org/lets-talk-volunteering/). Below are a few details about our speakers, as well as their presentation topics:
    • Arun Dhir – UBC Medical Student (The Importance of Balance)
    • Perminder Tung – ICBC Lawyer & Injury Claims, Partner at Lindsay Kenney LLP (What do you want out of the world? What are you going to put into the world?)
    • Sandeep Kaur Gill – Social Worker & Writer, Co-Founder of ‘She Writes HerStory’ (Personal Growth Through Community Building and Volunteerism)
The conference will be followed by a volunteer fair with over 20 organizations present, where students have the opportunity to network and sign up to volunteer with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, Canadian Mental Health Association, and many more.
The event will be taking place at SFU Surrey on Wednesday, May 24th, from 5:15pm to 8:00pm. This is a FREE event open to all high school and university students. However, as seating is limited, we kindly ask that everyone register for the event beforehand on our website www.youthtransformingsociety.org/lets-talk-volunteering/.
There are only a few days left until the event and there are still seats available. Students are encouraged to register for the event soon as we are certain they will benefit tremendously from this experience.
