Today Gleneagle students will be given their interim report card for first semester. They are expected to take the report home and share with their parents/guardians. This first interim report is an early assessment of student learning. It will not include letter or percent grades. For each semester one course on the student report the teacher will include a work habit (G/S/N) and a learning assessment (above average, average, below average, in-progress). This interim report will not include information for linear (all year) courses. The first report out on linear course work will be on the formal report which is scheduled to go home on Tuesday, November 22. If you have questions or would like further information regarding your son/daughters report please contact the appropriate classroom teacher or counsellor. Our parent-teacher interviews are on the calendar for Wednesday, October 26, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. The electronic sign-up process will be available to parents through our public website on Thursday, October 20.
For those families that purchased photo packages from our September photo day, these packages will be distributed to students today along with the interim report. Our photo retake day is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, October 14 for those students that did not have a picture taken on the September day. Those students still needing a school identification card (transit requirement) should plan to have their picture taken tomorrow.
Our career centre facilitator, Ms. Phyllis Devlin, is organizing the PSI (post-secondary institutions) event at Gleneagle and it is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, 7:00pm – 9:00pm. This event will include the participation of 19 different BC post-secondary schools. This event is open to all Gleneagle parents and students. We understand creating plans for life beyond high school can be complicated for students and families and we strongly encourage all grade 11 and 12 students and families to include this PSI event as part of the planning process.
