This website provides updates on School District No. 43's (Coquitlam) capital projects including new school construction, seismic replacements projects, additions, and other small projects.
Updates will be posted to each project page linked in the menu to the left, and may include text, photos, videos and applicable links to other websites.

A project is considered approved when it receives Ministry of Education and Child Care funding.
Burke Mountain Secondary
| New School
| The City Park contractor is now working on the park side of the site and underground services are being installed on the north side. At the school, metal decking is going up in Zones B and C—covering the shops, weight room, dance studio, and gym areas. Work on the retaining wall near the school parking lot is also underway (September 2025).

| Underground work is generally completed and structural steel installation is expected to start (September 2025).

| Design process continuing in preparation for building permit application. Public open house anticipated Fall 2025 (September 2025).

(Childcare)

| SD43 has been approved to begin the design process in renovating the IOCO school in Port Moody to be a Childcare Centre (September 2025).

Seismic Replacement
| The building envelope is nearing completion and work is well underway in the interior spaces. The contractor is continuing working on the hardscape (September 2025).

| Addition
| Occupancy achieved, and addition opened to students in February. Final deficiency remediation and site clean-up is in progress (March 2025).
