Friday, September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On this day, we commemorate and honour those who were lost, the survivors, and the families and communities that continue to grieve, as a result of the Indian Residential School system in Canada.
Although SD43 schools will not be in session, they will be recognizing their commitment to Truth and Reconciliation by participating in Orange Shirt Day activities and lessons.
We encourage you to engage in education and conversation as we acknowledge this historic tragedy and the ongoing trauma it has caused, as an important step toward reconciliation.
Resources to facilitate these discussions can be found on the Indigenous Education webpage. Please click "Read More"
