​​This webpage provides information and updates on the seismic replacement of École Irvine Elementary School, which is located in Port Coquitlam.

Currently, students who reside on Burke Mountain and who are interested in French Immersion may attend Irvine Elementary as it is the closest French Immersion school. ​

Dear Members of the École Irvine Elementary Community, (February 2022)

The construction of the new school is continuing to progress towards completion. The steel building installation  and precast concrete work are all complete. Exterior cladding, interior finishes , millwork installation, roofing, electrical, and plumbing are all ongoing. 

Moving to the new school is anticipated in Spring 2022 with other phases of the project such as the demolition of the current building and the building of the new parking lot to follow.

The construction of the new school is progressing. The building's underground work and slab on grade are complete. The steel building installation is ongoing. Precast concrete work has also started.  We will continue to update you as the project progresses.

Dear École Irvine Elementary School Community

We are happy to report that our Building Permit from the City of Port Coquitlam is ready to issue once we have a contractor onboard for the seismic replacement of École Irvine Elementary School.  We are pleased to see this project moving forward; however, the evolving COVID-19 situation will be a factor in the timeline for beginning the new school construction.   We thank you for your patience and we look forward to providing additional updates to you regarding this project in the coming weeks.
