Should I purchase the workbook for my child?
Purchasing a workbook is your prerogative. If you choose not to purchase it, your child will be assigned a workbook and they can use it as reference and write their answers on paper in their binders. The workbook purchased/provided for Spanish 9 is also used in Spanish 10 and the workbook purchased/provided for Spanish 11 is also used in Spanish 12. Please note that the assigned workbooks work the same way that textbooks do. They must be signed out but returned in pristine condition to avoid any charges for damage/loss.
Where do I find the course outline for my child's Spanish course?
First, in your child's binder. He/She was given a copy on the first day. Second, a copy is available on the previous page in the right hand column.
My child already speaks Spanish. What is the best course for him/her?
Please contact your child’s middle school or secondary school counselor. They can arrange a assessment with a Spanish teacher at Riverside. Your child may able to start at a higher level (grade 11) or they may be eligible to challenge the Spanish program by writing the grade 12 challenge exam.
