| | Award: (20) at $500Community Service AwardsThe BC Hydro Power Pioneers annual Community Service Awards recognize students who dedicate a significant amount of their time and energy to volunteering in their local communities.
We’re looking for students who have made outstanding contributions in their local community for a considerable amount of time or have initiated, organized or contributed significantly to a one-time project. Priority will be given to students who volunteer in their local communities. We’re looking for students who are: - Canadian citizens or permanent residents of BC attending a BC school
- Graduating from high school in June of each year
The following information must be included with your application to be considered for these awards: - Completed application form (link below)
- 500 word essay (one page) of voluntary contributions you have made to your community
- Reference letter(s) from the community organization(s) you have worked with
- Reference letter from a teacher, counsellor or principal at your school
- Confirmation of a passing grade (photocopy accepted)
- Proof of citizenship or status (photocopy accepted)
Applications are accepted from January 1 to March 31 of each year. Please fill in, print and attach all the required information and mail in before the deadline of March 31. Your application must be postmarked (at the post office) no later than March 31. Mail in early to avoid missing the deadline. Please note, we are unable to accept applications by email. | | Award: (10) $1,000 The British Columbia Retired Principals’ and Vice-Principals’ Association (BCRPVPA) awards up to ten (10) bursaries/scholarships, in the amount of $1000 each, to students who graduate from the BC public school system and who are continuing their education at an accredited post-secondary institution. Through this scholarship program, REMAX Canada is pleased to offer 40 scholarships of $1,000 each to students across Canada. | | Award: $1,000 per student The Jake Weitz Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Jake Weitz and to provide scholarships to High School students for post-secondary education, in the field of mechanics (automotive services, heavy duty mechanics, ag mechanics, aviation mechanics, etc.) who also share a love for mechanics. Eligibility criteria includes (but is not limited to):
- Proof of application/enrollment to a post-secondary course for Automotive Services, Heavy Duty, Aviation, etc., Mechanics at an accredited College or University (Board discretion applicable) in Canada.* applying for university scholarships applying for college scholarships

| | While a post-secondary education can be life-changing, it’s a goal that’s out of reach for many students. We’re trying to change that. Every year, we award up to 20 scholarships, each one a maximum of $50,000 paid over five years of study, to students graduating from BC high schools. Scholarship recipients have faced adversity but have responded with positivity and tenacity, achieving academic and social goals. With hard work and support, their post-secondary dreams can become a reality.
EligibilityIn order to be eligible for a TCF Scholarship, applicants must: - Be a current resident of BC
- Have lived in Canada for at least 7 years
- Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate
- Have demonstrated financial need (total annual family income not exceeding $80,000)

Throughout his life, Hal Rogers believed in the value of education. In his own words, "providing and promoting the finest and most effective education possible for our young people" was a noble endeavour.
Eligibility- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be a full-time student in the process of graduating from high school or currently studying or registered at a post-secondary institution.
- Must complete the current application form by February 1. Bursary winners are notified before June 30 by their sponsoring club.
- Must not have previously been awarded a Kin Canada Bursary.

| | Optimist International Essay Contest
Topic for the 2025-2026 school year is: “How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me” Who: The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st of the current Optimist International contest year (October 1 - September 30) and who have not yet completed secondary school or its equivalent, including CEGEP students in Québec, Canada. There is no minimum age. Students must enter in the District in which they reside. U.S. students attending school on military installations outside the U.S. are eligible to enter in their last home of record.
How To Enter: Interested students must contact their local Optimist Club. They need to submit an essay on the pre-assigned topic. To find out a contact, please e-mail the Programs Department at programs@optimist.org.
The Essay Contest planning pages are intended for use by Optimist Clubs in organizing and conducting a contest in their Club. They contain no information on entering the contest and are of no use to students wishing to enter the contest. Students must contact their local Optimist Club.
Judging Deadlines
The deadline for contestants to submit essays is determined
by the sponsoring Club, usually between Jan 1st and Feb 1st
to allow sufficient time for the judges. The deadline for

| | Award: $1,500 The Bea Kelly Volunteer Award is unique to Soroptimist International of the Tri Cities. | | Funded by BC Children's Hospital Foundation, Mini Med School Scholarships provide: - A scholarship of $1,000 CAD to go towards tuition fees at any national or international postsecondary academic institution.
- An in-person career placement at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute for one week, Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10, 2026. This is a research-based career placement. You will not be interacting with patients or be involved in clinical care of any kind.
To be eligible for the career placement part of the award you must:- Reside in the Lower Mainland or have access to housing in the Lower Mainland during the placement (residency or transportation is not included as part of the Mini Med School Scholarship)
- Be at least 16 years of age as of July 1, 2026 to meet minimum safety standards for a healthcare facility
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible to apply for the Mini Med School Scholarship, you must: - Be a grade 12 student currently enrolled at a BC private or public school and graduating in 2026
- Be selected to attend Mini Med School (In-Person, Virtually Live OR On-Demand) scheduled for October 2025
- Have participated in at least 3 Mini Med School 2025 sessions in October & November (attendance for sessions will be tracked by program organizers)
