About 10,000 students from across British Columbia competed, 209 made the provincial finals, including four students from School District 43 that won at Canada's largest, annual French-language public speaking competition, Concours d'art oratoire hosted by the Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon on May 4, 2019.
The competition is open to all students, grades 6 through 12, who are learning French through programs such as: French Immersion, Core French and the native Francophone School Board (SD93).
Students competed by delivering a 3 to 5 minute speeches, en français on a topic/ subject that interests them.
