βBC girls aged 10-18 years were at SFU on May 5-6 to pitch the apps they have been developing as a part of the
Technovation Challenge. Two teams from SD43 placed second in their division and will advance to the next of the round of the competition and will be judged online starting June 1. Teams that are selected as finalists will be invited to pitch their apps at the World Pitch Summit in Silicon Valley this August

Second Place - StreetSource
Inquiry Hub, Coquitlam
Tiffany Davidson, Anika Prinsen, and Jazmine Khaseipoul from Inquiry Hub devleoped StreetSource , an app to help homeless individuals and outreach workers find resources in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside area.
JUNIOR DIVISION
Second Place - IMpower
Kwayhquitlum Middle School, Port Coquitlam
Mia Frohnsdorf, Angela Kim, Joelle Lewis, Evelyn Olson and Natalie Vaida from Kwayhquitlum Middle developed IMpower, an app to help girls overcome their insecurities.
