βOn Tuesday, January 30th, the Minister of Education and other special guests from the Ministry and School District came to Irvine to announce the funding for a new Irvine Elementary.
They also highlighted the amazing work being done with technology at Irvine Elementary. Five of our students, Matthew Harford; Shea Hynes; Jack Hoegler; Flynn Luterbach; and Kayla Stewart, presented their coding projects with Micro:bits. They shared how they coded on tablets and laptops as part of Irvine's Bring Your Own Device Program.
This code was then transfered to their Micro:bits, a piece of technology that Irvine students piloted for the school district last year. This allowed them to show off their projects including a rock, paper, scissors game; a compass; a cardboard "robot" with facial expressions; and hacked headphones playing music created by the students.
