Andrea Hunter named new assistant superintendent
The School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) Superintendent of Schools Patricia Gartland and the Board of Education are pleased to announce that Andrea Hunter has been appointed to the position of assistant superintendent effective February 1, 2025.
Ms. Hunter brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this role, having served the Coquitlam School District for over twenty-six years. As a proud Coquitlam School District alumnus, Ms. Hunter completed her K-12 education in the district and began her teaching career in 1998 at Riverside Secondary, followed by Ranch Park Elementary. She then transitioned to Learning Services as a Support Teacher specializing in literacy and early learning, eventually becoming the Early Learning Coordinator. Ms. Hunter has also served as Principal at Leigh and Birchland Elementary schools, and her most recent role was as the Principal of Learning Services.
