Program Description
Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provide direct and/or consultative services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Through collaboration with students, school staff and parents, the students’ individual needs will be identified. Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing may provide the following services:

classroom observations

information regarding hearing loss, implications and suggested strategies

in-services on hearing loss and related issues

self-advocacy skills for independent learning and thinking

information regarding assistive listening devices

liaison with community agencies and support groups

assistance with program or school transitions
Referral Process
If a student has a diagnosed hearing loss or if you suspect a hearing loss, contact the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in your child's school.
