As highlighted in a full-page feature article in the Tri-City News, many SD43 schools are using self-regulation techniques as part of the social and emotional curriculum. SD43 has been working with the Canadian Self-Regulation Initiative on programs to help students recognize and reduce stress. Some tools and technique being used include: "taking 5," zones of regulation, sensory rooms, calming music and stationary bikes.
