SD43 sports news: HWSS senior boys win provincial lacrosse championships!

Heritage Woods Secondary's senior boys' lacrosse team took home the Tier 2 BC high school provincial championship after a perfect undefeated tournament.
Riverside Secondary's boys' curling team placed 4th in the BC high school provincial championships.
Riverside Secondary's senior girls' basketball team placed 5th and Dr. Charles Best Secondary placed 9th in the BC high school AAA provincial championships. Terry Fox Secondary's junior girls finished 8th in the tournament. For more information, see this Tri-City News article.
Riverside Secondary’s Haley de Jong, recently finished second overall at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy Classic International Elite competition in Frisco Texas and also helped Team Canada to a bronze-medal finish in the team event. For more information, see this Tri-City News article.
At the BC Winter games in Penticton, Hana Stewart from Port Moody Secondary, won silver and bronze medals in archery. Riverside Secondary's Matthew McCrady took home gold in men's curling. In grade 8 girls' basketball, Eagle Mountain Middle won the district championships and Minnekhada Middle finished 2nd.
