The Indigenous Peoples in Trades Training Program (IPITT) provides support to SD43 students who are interested in pursuing a Career, Education or Training in Trades. βSchool District No. 43 and the Career and Trades Programs are committed to providing equal access and opportunity for Indigenous students interested in trades. βThere are several programs and resources available for those interested in exploring or entering Tradesβ. In partnership with the Skilled Trades BC, ACCESS Futures, Skilled Trades βBC, WORK BC, and other agencies, we are able to help support students with:
- βTuition-free Trades Training Programs
- Financial support for equipment and other supplies
- Transportation and Housing Allowances
- Access to child care
- Mentorship Programs β
- Free tutoring and learning support
- Free upgrading programs

SD43 and ACCESS BC have partnered to offer students a 3-day experience where they get to
explore different trades including: Carpentry, Welding, and CNC Machining. Students will also
get the opportunity to hear from a representative from ACCESS BC to share the opportunities they offer as well as connect their learnings to Indigenous Culture.
