Whether you have finished your technical training and/or looking to gain some 'hands-on, real world' experience - at some point, you will want to begin looking for and applying to a paid job. 

It is not a simple, easy, and quick task. It will take some planning and prep work on your behalf. And there is no 'one size fits all' - it is personal and unique to your situation.

But there is lots of help, resources, and guidance out there to make it less daunting. The most obvious starting place is the internet. In the right column are some sample links to topics that you will want to consider exploring before you simply begin "knocking on doors". Get yourself prepared!

Each June the school district hosts a "Trades Hiring Fair" and in 2023 there were over 40 employer booths, with 500 students stopping by. This year's hiring fair will be on June 5, 2024 at Centennial Secondary between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
