Out of 10,000 students from across British Columbia, 260 total and nine from School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) competed in the provincial finals for the 33rd Annual French public speaking competition, Concours d'art oratoire. 

The event this year was held on May 7 at the Simon Fraser University campus in Surrey .

Student participants are asked to present a 3 to 5 minute speech, en français.
