To celebrate Family Literacy Day on Wednesday January 27, 2016, students at Central Community Elementary School invited family members to come in and read with them. They were then treated to a dynamic presentation from a local author, Lee Fodi, whose books the students have been reading in class. Fodi is an illustrator and author of the Kendra Kandlestar series. He gave engaging presentations to the entire school, in three different grade level configurations. He spoke to students on how he works through the writing process, then finished with a directed drawing activity which led to lots of writing going on in classes afterwards. Great fun and great learning!
