School District No. 43 (Coquitlam)'s 1st Annual Elementary School Sphero Challenge was held on Thursday, May 23rd and 30th at Winslow Centre featuring elementary students working collaboratively, exercising their computation thinking skills and solving problems through coding with Spheros.
Twenty-six elementary schools in the district were represented with over 90 students and teachers involved in the event. Each schools' teams were put through a series of challenges in order to demonstrate their critical thinking, coding ability and showmanship.
Students from iHub Secondary provided the volunteer crew who played significant roles in making the day a huge success.
Awards and prizes, including new mini Sphero units, and were presented to teams exhibiting the top score, most spirited, and best teamwork.
