English Literature 12
Students who like reading, writing and discussing literature and history will enjoy this course- which spans from Anglo-Saxon times through to the early twentieth century. Students will examine such famous works as Beowulf, Hamlet, and Pride & Prejudice.
Journalism 11 & Journalism 12
Learn to write news stories, feature articles, and column commentaires as part of the team that prepares The Edge, Gleneagle’s award winning student newspaper. We will focus on journalistic style, interviewing techniques, publication design, page production, and effective photography. These courses are open to grade 10, 11, and 12 students.

Writing 12
This class offers grade 11 and 12 student the opportunity to develop and hone their creative writing skills in fi ction, non-fi ction, and poetry through both online and face to face sessions using miniwriting tasks, and weekly themes ranging from cooperation and kindness to anger and betrayal. Students will publish experiences, poems, and short stories, on an SD43 wiki, that are crafted, drafted, and published for public sharing.
