Director's Message

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to Gleneagle’s production of Footloose: The Musical. The cast and crew have been working tirelessly to create a show that is energetic, exciting, and imaginative. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, and guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind. This show is about friendship, community, and it’s about fighting for what we believe in. Certainly our talented cast and crew have embodied these values while striving to create this truly magnifi cent piece of theatre. What is apparent is just how powerful theatre is in building and creating a strong sense of self and place within a community while working to meet a common artistic goal.

A big thank you to members of the community — from dedicated parents to helpful colleagues. A production of this magnitude could not have happened without their generosity and support. I would also like to acknowledge the incredibly supportive administration at Gleneagle who continue to understand and recognize the value and positive impact of arts education in the lives of their students. And last, but never least, to my hardworking and talented students- this year has been absolutely magical... “almost paradise.”
