DPAC GENERAL MEETING DATES for 2018/2019
DPAC General Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise noted) at 7:00 p.m., in the Gallery Room, Winslow Centre
Attention Parents of All Grades!
Each year, Gleneagle Secondary hosts the After Grad party which is held at the school (from 12 midnight until 5 am), and immediately follows the Graduation Dinner/Dance. This event allows the grads to continue the evening's Graduation celebration in a safe, alcohol-free environment filled with games, food, prizes, and entertainment.
Please consider volunteering for Dry Grad in June. We have all different shifts, so any time you can spare would be greatly appreciated. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents of your school as well as prepare you for your own child's Grad. This is a huge night and it takes many, many volunteers to make it a success.
Gleneagle Emergency Preparedness
Gleneagle Secondary, like all BC schools, has in place plans to deal with emergency situations. Throughout the school year we are mandated to practice for different emergency situations. For example we have at least three earthquake drills every school year and at least one code yellow drill. (Procedures to keep students in class away from a dangerous situation such as a bear on the property)
In all of our classrooms we do have a basic emergency kit for teachers to bring with them in an evacuation of the building. This kit has a small first aid kit, dust masks (30), garbage bags (30), flashlight, and toilet paper. We also as a school have four large first aid kits at different locations in the school, one large principal’s emergency kit with a more extensive earthquake/rescue equipment and one bin of emergency tools to be brought out in the case of an emergency. As a school we have a designated trained general first aid attendants and nine staff members trained to operate the semi-automatic external defibrillator kits in the school.
As a school we also have stored a small supply of bottled water and the food in our teaching cafeteria in case of an extended emergency. The school and PAC continue to work towards increasing the capacity of the school’s emergency supplies. If you have any questions about emergency preparedness at Gleneagle, please contact the school administration or PAC Health and safety representative at email@example.com.
