Hello
Riverside Community!
Here
is your weekly update from Riverside! Attached are some helpful PDF documents
that go with today's items. Enjoy.
PAC MEETING & A.G.M. –
(See Attachment)
Parents are invited to the AGM this
coming May 20th. We will be using Zoom again. Parents of incoming
students from Grade 8 are welcome to attend and run for PAC positions. Please
email lauracode@shaw.ca for a link to
the meeting.
RIVERSIDE’S NEW SMARTPHONE APP –
MySchoolDay (See Attachment)
We’ve chosen a smartphone app for
our students AND parents to use. It’s free to all users. You’ll find a document
on our website and attached to this email with all the instructions on how to
find it on the App Store or Play Store. It will provide another way for us to
get quick push notifications of important events, replaces the paper agenda, as
well as displaying updates from the Instagram page (@rapidevent). We would like
to get our user base up to over 3,000 people as fast as we can! Go for it,
Riverside!
CHALLENGES WITH LEARNING AT HOME
Just a reminder that counsellors
and admin are available via phone and email if there are increasing challenges
getting things done from home. We can give advice, connect you to supports
including tech support, or assist in other ways. We are currently offering many
kinds of tech and learning supports.
DELF
For French Immersion students, the
“DELF” French Exam has been postponed indefinitely by the organization that
provides the test. For Grade 12’s who needed to completed it in Semester 2, the
organizers are going to work with us this Fall to establish an accessible DELF
location even if you have proceeded to post-secondary. When we get the
information, we will be sharing it through our website, but I would encourage
students to monitor updates on the Alliance Francaise website.
MYED PORTAL LOGIN
This past Monday, we posted report
cards to the “MyEd Student Portal”. Most students had already accessed the
portal, but for those that hadn’t they needed their portal username and a way
to recover/create their password. If you’ve had any issues getting connected to
the portal to see the report card, please let your Vice-Principal know. Thank
you. We believe we saved a lot on paper, as well as increased safety by not
having to handle paper report cards.
Have a great weekend,
Riverside Office & Admin
