• Be a person that was born in Western Canada (ie. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba). ​

What do I need to attach with my application?
Make sure to include all of the following documents: 

• Proof of enrollment in either post-secondary or trades program; 

• Verification of Western Canada status; 

• Proof of receiving Financial Aid, if applicable; 

• Two reference letters (optional); and 

• Completed Strike Group EDI Scholarship Application form.

  • You are pursuing your FIRST post-secondary program of study

What: Twice a year, IPS distributes $500 from the Paddle Fund and $2,000 from the Canoe Fund. Projects should align with Linda’s values of leadership, youth empowerment, promotion of Indigenous culture, relationship building, knowledge transfer, and overall wellness.

This one-time bursary program is designed for those studying or planning to study Communications who demonstrate a commitment to the issues and actions affecting working people. One (1) $1,000 bursary will be awarded to a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant who is enrolling or enrolled in full or part time Communications studies at an accredited public post-secondary institution in Canada. To be considered eligible for the Lifestyle Dentistry Scholarship, you must:

A) Be enrolled (or plan to enroll) in a college or university no later than September 30, 2026. Current high school seniors graduating in 2026 are eligible to apply. Enrollment can be in any field of study.

B) Submit your responses to the essay question (available on the application page) before the specified deadline.

C) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

D) Be a resident of Canada and plan to attend a Canadian post-secondary institution.

The scholarship winner will be announced roughly six weeks after the deadline and will be posted on this website immediately after. All applications must be received by 11:59 pm PT on the day of the deadline. No late applications will be reviewed.                     ​

The First Citizens Fund Student Bursary Program provides financial awards to Indigenous students enrolled in post-secondary education. The David Lam/ BC TEAL English Language Learner Scholarship Award is for a refugee who has shown courage and determination while adapting to a new language and culture in Canada. It is valued at $4,000.

The David Lam/ BC TEAL English Language Learner Scholarship Award recognizes an English language learner graduating from a BC secondary school who has combined academic competence with school and community service, and who wishes to further his/her education at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia.

Please note that applicants for the David Lam/BC TEAL English Language Learner Scholarship must be documented permanent residents or citizens of Canada. International students on student visas are not eligible for this award.


Note that the application deadline is January 31st of each year

Each of the refugee awards is awarded to a refugee who has shown courage and determination while adapting to a new language and new culture in Canada. Each refugee award is valued at $4,000.

  • Studied English as an additional language since arriving in Canada

The B.C. Excellence scholarship is awarded to 55 high school graduates who have demonstrated service and leadership, both at school and in their communities, and who show aptitude for and commitment to their chosen career or area of post-secondary study.

Each school may nominate only one student.

Note: students may apply for both the B.C. Excellence scholarship and the Pathway to Teacher Education scholarship but they can only be awarded one.
