UPDATE FOR GRAD 2023
Dinner/Dance & Dry-Grad
The Dinner/Dance is taking place on Saturday, May 27th at the Vancouver Convention Centre East building, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver. Students should arrive by 6:00pm. The evening ends at Midnight. Note that all students are expected to follow our school and district's code of conduct, and will be asked to leave the celebration if they fail to do so. There will be VCC Security Staff on hand searching students and checking bags to ensure the event is a safe one. Tickets will be available to purchase for all Grade 12s on SchoolCashOnline starting in the Spring.
Our PAC also organizes a Dry-Grad party immediately following the Dinner/Dance at the school. Doors will be open at Midnight, all students must arrive by 1am, and the party will conclude by 5am.β Note that any students who attend must stay for the entire celebration, and will only be allowed to leave early in case of an emergency (in which case parents will be contacted and will have to come and pick them up). For more information (or to volunteer!) please email Christina Cummins, the PAC Grad Committee chair, at terryfoxdrygrad@gmail.com.
Commencement
The Commencement Ceremony will be at Convocation Mall at SFU on Saturday, June 24th. The ceremony will begin at 11am, but all Grads should arrive by 9:45am. Complimentary parking will be available in the North Lot. Each grad will receive 4 tickets to give to family and guests, and additional tickets can be purchased from the office starting on June 1st.
The "Cap & Gown" fee this year is $55, which covers the cost of a cap and gown as well as other Grad-related expenses, such as rental costs, decorations, photography, and four tickets to the Commencement Ceremony. This item is already on SchoolCashOnline for all Grade 12 students.
Yearbook Comments and purchases
Every
year the yearbook sells out and we highly encourage all Grade 12s to
buy a copy. We are currently collecting those comments. They can be
entered at the link below. Also, the guidelines for those comments are
below.
Grad comments are an important reflection on them as a
person, and as such should be well written and appropriate for
publishing in a school publication. Then need to be 400 characters
maximum including spaces and need to be appropriate. Good comments are
often reflective, funny, thoughtful, or forward thinking. Comments will
be vetted, and students may be asked to revamp them should they not be
considered appropriate.
