The school is substantially complete and officially opened to students and staff on January 13, 2026. Remaining deficiency and warranty-related work is nearing completion, marking the final stages of the project (August 2026).

The project is in its final stages, with teams focusing on completing outstanding work and preparing the school for occupancy.  Building commissioning, final inspections, and general project completion are ongoing. (December 2025).

The building envelope is nearing completion, and interior construction is progressing well.  Work on exterior hardscape elements is also ongoing as the project continues to advance (September 2025).

Construction of the new Moody Elementary School is progressing well, with roofing, exterior sheathing, and window installation underway.  Work has also advanced within the building, including interior wall framing, electrical rough-in, and the installation of mechanical systems (March 2025).

Structural steel installation is nearing completion, while roofing, exterior sheathing, and window installation continue to advance.  Interior work is also underway, including wall framing, electrical rough-in, and the installation of mechanical systems.  Site preparation for the future parking lot is ongoing (November 2024).

Foundation work has been completed, and structural steel erection and glulam installation are well underway.  Construction of retaining walls and site access stairs is also progressing as the project continues to take shape  (August 2024).

Contractor Selected (June 2023)

A contractor has been selected for the new seismic replacement building of Moody Elementary School.  The work will begin summer 2023 and will involve construction of a new building, play space, and parking lot on the northern portion of the École Moody Middle School of the Arts site. 

The School District is working closely with the City and the Contractor on ensuring safety, building permit, and bylaw protocols are in place.
