The School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) Board of Education is comprised of nine trustees, who are elected every four years at the same time as the mayor and city council for the municipalities. The Board of Education trustees are elected by voters in the City of Coquitlam (4), City of Port Coquitlam (2), city of Port Moody (2), Village of Anmore/Village of Belcarra (1).
Carol Brodie Ms. Brodie is the Executive Director of the Coquitlam Foundation which encourages and supports creative, targeted philanthropy that builds a vibrant, sustainable, and healthy community, and is a Director on the board of PLEA Community Services which provides unique services to help children, youth, adults, and families who face significant challenges lead fulfilling lives within their communities. Carol believes that good governance, openness, continued fiscal accountability, stable, balanced budgets, being a strong public education advocate, and listening to and valuing stakeholders will continue strengthening the public education system. Ms. Brodie believes all learners should receive an excellent education, no matter which public program they are in, and have a sense of belonging, inclusion, and feeling safe.

Chuck Denison Chuck has a degree in Engineering Physics, and an Education degree with double type-A teaching certification. Chuck is currently a business owner. Previously he was a corporate project manager, and earlier was a high school teacher. Chuck has broad educational experience. His roles have included:

Rosey Manhas (Vice Chair) Rosey believes in the power of collaboration between schools, families, and the broader community. She is committed to fostering strong partnerships to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive, both in the classroom and beyond. | ||
Kerri Palmer Isaak She is a Leader for Anmore Youth in Action and a mother of two daughters. She has also served in other leadership capacities within her community, including past Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Chair at Eagle Mountain Middle School, Moody Middle School and Anmore Elementary School. Ms. Palmer Isaak has served as Chair of Anmore Youth Social Recreation Committee, on the Metro Board Regional Plan and Agriculture Committee and the Village Finance Committee. In the past she was a Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) Trustee, the President of Friendly Forest Parent Co-operative Preschool and a member of the Recreation Task Force for Anmore/Port Moody. Mrs. Palmer Isaak is experienced and engaged with many aspects of the public school system and represents both villages while working with fellow trustees and school district staff. |
Lisa Park Ms. Park has taught in various schools and institutions in Alberta and British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, a Bachelor of Education, and a TESOL certificate. She is also qualified as an Exercise Rehabilitation trainer and is an avid advocate for active and healthy living. Ms. Park believes the public education system should provide great education for all students, their parents, and families. |

Michael Thomas (Chair) He brings both personal and professional experience to his role as a father of three, a business owner, and a technology professional who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology Management from BCIT. During his time on the Board, Michael is proud to have supported the rebuilding of several schools and to have helped more than double the number of Education Assistants in the District, improving both school facilities and the day-to-day support available to students. Michael is a strong supporter of student safety and has worked to move the seismic safety program forward, recognizing the importance of safe and secure schools for all students and staff. Michael has been involved in the community for many years. He is an active volunteer with a local school breakfast program, supporting student well-being in a practical way. His community volunteerism has included serving as a DPAC Director, a PoCo Soccer Coach, a Director of PoCo Heritage, and working on local initiatives such as Emergency Preparedness, the May Day Task Force, PoCo’s Transportation and Operations committee, and the Port Coquitlam Spirit Committee. He is also a Past Master of Blue Mountain Lodge #182. He believes that strong public schools help build a healthy and connected community, and he remains focused on making decisions that support students and families across the District. |
Craig Woods Craig eventually served as the SD43 District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) President for over five school years (2014-2018) and was recognized by the BC Confederation of PACs (BCCPAC) for his volunteerism and commitment to supporting parents in SD43. Since being elected School Board Trustee in 2018, Craig has served as Board Vice-Chair, Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, and has helped to shape the district's strategic plan. Craig currently serves as the DPAC Liaison to the Board, is a Coquitlam Foundation Board Director, and supports the Mental Health Task Force to help bring mental health resources into our schools and our community.
