Library Learning Commons & STEAM Lab Mission Statement
At Aspenwood Elementary, our Library Learning Commons and STEAM Lab empower students to become curious, creative, and confident learners. Through literacy, inquiry, collaboration, and innovation, we provide welcoming spaces where students explore ideas, think critically, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Grounded in BC's Core Competencies—Communication, Thinking, and Personal & Social Responsibility—we support students in building the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through reading, research, design, making, coding, and problem-solving, students learn to ask meaningful questions, work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and take ownership of their learning.
Our mission is to inspire every learner to discover, create, and connect while developing the literacy and competencies needed to contribute positively to their communities and future.
