β"The soft inner bark of the cedar is an amazing fibre. We can use it to weave baskets, nets, clothing, mats, and so much more. I harvest from small cedars (like this one behind me) when the warmer weather comes and the sap starts to run. Before I harvest, I thank the tree for its gift. Starting at the bottom, I pull a strip no more than two hands wide. This won't hurt the tree. It will heal itself and continue to grow and thrive. I pull up to the branches. Task: Look for four tall, thin cedars. Use your adze to take only one piece of bark. Work together to make sure you harvest from as few trees as possible."ββββ
