Pinetree After Grad (Dry Grad) 2017
After Grad is organized by the grade 11 & 12 parent community, along with the support and assistance of the administration and office staff at Pinetree. We strongly believe this safe, fun, and alcohol free event helps saves lives.
Almost 95% of the graduating class attend this event which is held immediately following their Grad Dinner Dance celebration at downtown Vancouver. This year's event is on Saturday and Sunday June 17 & 18, 2017.
Because the graduating students are still in a celebratory mood after their dinner dance event, putting on this after grad event allows them to all stay together in a safe environment instead of finding a party to attend which would more than likely include alcohol.
In order to keep the traditions going, and to continue to have a high attendance rate at our event we give out door prizes throughout the night. In 2016, over $12,000 dollars in prizes were given away from various Apple products to Microsoft Surface, from a mountain bike to numeric gift cards, and much more.
Doors open at 12:00 for those not attending the Dinner Dance. The event ends at approx. 3:30 am. Most grads have paid for their tickets at the beginning of the year with their student fees. Tickets for guests and those grads who did not pre pay will go on sale in May. Students will be notified.
Along with the door prizes, grads can enjoy an evening of dancing, air brush tattoos, photo booth, money game booth, large inflatable games, food and much more. This is all included in their $30 fee. Grads will not need any money for this event.
Volunteer Call Out
This event cannot be successful without enough volunteers. Approximately 70-90 parent volunteers are required. Some tasks and jobs require a little more of your time, but we also need a large group to volunteer on the evening and would encourage you to help out anyway you can. No job is too small. We appreciate whatever you are able to contribute.
We ask both grade 12 and 11 parents to join the committee. Additional volunteers and past alumni are welcomed to volunteer and we greatly appreciate their involvement. Why both grades? To ensure event support and continuity, we buddy up both Grade 12 and 11 parents in the seven key volunteer areas, and welcome to step up as the leader for these committees!
· Prizes and Donation Committee (~15)
Send out donation requests, shop and wrap prizes, organize and run the event prize booth, send out thank-you cards
· Food & Beverage Committee (6-8)
Make, buy or get donated tasty treats; organize and run the event concession
· Games & Activities Committee (12-15)
Plan the event setup and activities, arrange and supervise games on event night
· Decoration and Event Night Committee (30-35)
Arrange supplies, make stuff, do lights and decorate at the event, and clean up after the event. Assist with making posters, thank you board, event signs and flyers. There will be Grade 11 students helping on pre-event decoration and clean-up.
· Front of House Committee (20-25)
Make registration envelops, organize event registration, check coats and coordinate security.
Parents may be able to join more than one group if the time is not overlapped.
