Our Goal: To teach students the basic fundamentals of working in a commercial kitchen.
Cafeteria courses are offered as electives to Grade 11 and 12 students at Centennial Secondary. Grade 12 students can enrol in the Ace-It apprenticeship program which upon passing will give them their level one certificate towards becoming a Red Seal Chef. Students in our program learn about food safety and sanitation, along with the basic skills that are required to work in a restaurant or industrial kitchen setting. Students prepare food items on a day to day basis in the various stations in the kitchen along with weekly written assignments related to their practical learning.
