Ongoing Weekly Programs

ROCKY POINT FITNESS

We have an ongoing relationship with Rocky Point Fitness, which is just a four minute walk from the school.  Students are able to benefit from the expertise and experience of a personal trainer for individual coaching as well as utilize any of the gym equipment, including rope climbs, wall climbs, rowing machines, bikes, kettle bells, weights, bars, hoops and more.

MPOWER

Students discover how beautiful they can feel on the inside and out with these weekly mpowering sessions.  Focus is on building self-esteem, confidence, resiliency, and self-love in these mpowerment training and beauty sessions.  Students learn basic martial arts/self-defense techniques, mental and physical awareness skills, social media safety strategies, healthy relationship communication, positive body image awareness and anxiety-reducing self-regulation techniques. Practice yoga, martial arts/self-defense, fitness, and fun activities that will mpower students to love themselves from the inside and out so they can feel strong, confident, and safe.

We love our weekly visits from pet therapy dog Corky and his human companion.

YO BRO / YO GIRL

Yo Bro | Yo Girl Youth Initiative is a weekly session led by trained program facilitators, exercises are carefully selected to develop physical and mental strength, flexibility, agility, and relaxation. Students also learn a specific set of martial art skills – typically a combination of judo, jiu jitsu, qi gong, and tae kwon do.  Through their participation, youth develop physical fitness and personal safety skills. Students also have the opportunity to engage in team‐building exercises to build peer connections, acceptance, and confidence.
