Welcome to PMSS Strings, offering instruction on bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello and double bass) through diverse repertoire.

Term 3 Playing Test material: "King of Pop", bars 64-80. 

Class Schedule: The 2017-18 Strings schedule will be: Tuesdays 4:30-6:30, Thursday 3:00-4:10.

For the foreseeable future, there are no rehearsals scheduled with or at Heritage Woods.

Beginners regularly meet for extra help on Thursday mornings, 7:45-8:20 (in addition to Strings Orchestra class).

Strings Retreat 2018: Port Moody Strings will be enjoying a retreat to Alexandra Neighbourhood House April 6-7 (overnight) in Surrey/White Rock. Cost per student in $95. 

The itinerary is as follows:

Fri., April 6

• 3:00pm- bus leaves PMSS for Alexandra Neighbourhood House by school bus
• 4:00pm- PMSS arrives at Camp Alexandra and sets up
• 4:45 – Full ensemble rehearsal
• 6:00pm – dinner in the Dining Hall
• 7:00pm-8:30pm – tutti rehearsal/clinic
• 9:00 – 10:30pm – hot chocolate and evening group activities
• 10:30-11:00 – prep for sleep
• 11:00 pm lights out

Sat., April 7

• 8:00am - Breakfast
• 9:00am – sectional/small ensemble rehearsal
• 10:00am  full rehearsal
• 10:45 – group photo
• 12:00pm - Lunch
• 1:00pm – load bus and depart to PMSS
• 2:00pm- arrive at PMSS

What to bring:

• your instrument - extra strings, rosin etc. recommended
• your music folder & pencil
• sleeping bag & pillow
• wash cloth and bathing towel
• toiletries
• warm jacket
• layering  casual clothes
• comfortable shoes
• slippers
• wrist watch/phone
