Graduation Assessment

Install Assessment Lock in preparation for Graduation Assessments

As part of British Columbia's graduation requirements, students are required to complete provincial graduation assessments:

  • Grade 10 Literacy Assessment
  • Grade 10 Numeracy  Assessment
  • Grade 12 Literacy Assessment

These assessments are completed online. As a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school, students will use their personal laptop for these assessments whenever possible. Students who do not have access to a suitable device will be provided with a school device.

Action Required

The Ministry of Education requires students to install Assessment Lock software on their device before they can access a graduation assessment. Please complete this installation at home using these instructions.

What is Assessment Lock?

Assessment Lock is a security browser extension and kiosk application developed for the Vretta E-Assessment Platform, which is commonly used for provincial assessments.

When a student begins an assessment, Assessment Lock temporarily creates a secure testing environment by preventing the opening additional browser tabs, switching between applications, using unauthorized software, and accessing generative AI tools during the assessment. Assessment Lock does not monitor students, record screens, access personal files, or track activity outside of an assessment session.

Graduation Assessment Schedule is set by the Ministry of Education and can be found here: Graduation Assessment Schedule (specific dates vary and can be found on the PMSS calendar).

Thank you for helping us prepare students for their graduation assessments.
