Graduation Assessment Schedule is set by the Ministry of Education with opportunities to write in November, January, April and June. Specific dates and times vary and can be found on the PMSS calendar.
As part of British Columbia's graduation requirements, students are required to complete provincial graduation assessments. Information and online practice assessments linked here:
These assessments are completed online. As a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) school, students will use their personal laptop for these assessments whenever possible. Students who do not have access to a suitable device will be provided with a school device.
Action Required
The Ministry of Education requires students to install Assessment Lock software on their device before they can access a graduation assessment. Please complete this installation at home using these instructions.
What is Assessment Lock?
Assessment Lock is a security browser extension and kiosk application developed for the Vretta E-Assessment Platform, which is commonly used for provincial assessments.
When a student begins an assessment, Assessment Lock temporarily creates a secure testing environment by preventing the opening additional browser tabs, switching between applications, using unauthorized software, and accessing generative AI tools during the assessment. Assessment Lock does not monitor students, record screens, access personal files, or track activity outside of an assessment session.

Windows Install

Mac OS Install
- Use this link
- Extract the zip folder by double clicking
- Click and drag the application into the “Applications” directory.
Chromebook Install
- Go to the Chromewebstore and find the Assessment Lock or click on this link
- Click “Add to Chrome” and then “Add extension”
Ipad Install
- Go to the Apple App Store and search for Assessment Lock under developer Vretta Inc.
- Download Assessment Lock from the Apple App Store.
