Catchment student currently in grade 8 at a SD43 Middle School
If you live in our catchment and attend a Coquitlam Middle School, you should be registered in our school automatically in the district articulation process that begins in January.
However, if your child is not attending Kwayquitlam, Pitt River or Ciadel Middle, please contact a Riverside counsellor in mid-February for course selection.
New catchment student or one currently attending a non SD43 school.
If you wish to attend Riverside Secondary and you have moved into our area, or you are coming from outside the SD43 public system you need to make an appointment to register at the school. You will need to bring proof of citizenship for parent and child (i.e. birth certificates, PR Cards, Passports) and proof of residency in B.C. (e.g. [1] rental contract or property purchase agreement; AND [2] tax notice, telephone bill, or utility bill, etc.). Parent(s) or legal guardian must live in the same permanent address as the student.
Out of Catchment student
You will need to complete an on-line request for cross catchment transfer available from the school board office in January. Please visit www.sd43.bc.ca for more information on cross catchment requests.
International Students
All international students will be placed in schools by our International Education Department. Please visit www.internationaled.com for more information.
Appointments
Students wishing to meet with their counsellors can drop into the counselling centre to make an appointment. Students may see their counsellors before and after school, at nutrition break and lunch, during a spare block or (with teacher permission) during class time.
Parents are also encouraged to meet with counsellors when they have questions or concerns. Appointments can be arranged by calling the school at (604) 941-6053
