Bell Schedule for Third Quarter Till April 22nd 2021

A and B blocks are two and a half hours long but 30 minutes of that time is something called Flex time. It isn’t the same Flex we instituted last year, but rather it is flexible instructional time that we are using to support our students in a variety of ways.

Sometimes Flex time will be used to teach Career 12 and Digital Literacy 10 lessons.  Sometimes it will be used as additional teaching time for some or all of the students in a class.  Sometimes the time will be used for students to connect with a counsellor, Career Facilitator or youth worker.  Sometimes the time will be used to hold school-wide virtual assemblies or lessons to support the health and wellness of our students. It will also be used to support students who need targeted help in the learning centre.

There will be days when all of this time is used, but there will also be times when it is not required.  Sometimes specific grades will be staying for flex time, while others are dismissed.  By utilizing Flex time in this manner it also allows us staggered release times for students to ease congestion in the hallways, parking lot and buses.  Students will know in advance what days they are expected to remain for Flex to help with planning.
