It is the last night of his life and William Shakespeare is dreaming of a cavalcade of characters but soon dreams turn to nightmares as his disgruntled servant has re-written the plays.  Soon it all becomes a comedy of errors acted out by clowns. This ensemble piece has 18 different student actors across all grades coming together to honour the Bard in a whimsical, comedic, way. The show runs for 45 minutes, taking place at Port Moody Secondary School, and it is suitable for all ages!

Theatre Classes

Drama 9

In this introduction to acting course, you will experience a survey of an array of dramatic forms. From theatre games, to mime, to improvisation, to working with small scenes, to developing and contributing to an end of semester production, you will get an extensive overview of all things dramatic arts. This class will improve confidence speaking in front of others, improve your ability to collaborate, will decrease anxiety in formal presentations, and will aid in communication skills. These acquired skills from Drama 9 are not just valuable in the presentation of dramatic arts but are transferable to all other classes and social engagements.

Drama 11/12

Theatre Performance 11 involves a deeper dive into the dramatic arts. We will take the skills acquired in Drama 9 and work on specifics to improve the caliber of dramatic creations. Students will develop personal and interpersonal skills, acquire techniques for working with script and production detail, and use these in the preparation and presentation of scenes. In addition, students will get a more comprehensive view of offstage roles such as stage managing, lighting design, and directing.
