Spring Musicals
Port Moody has TWO musicals in April this year. Please refer below to learn more about them and buy tickets!
A Story to Tell - An Original Musical
A Story to Tell is an original musical written by two PMSS students, Amy Ritchie and Kyan Ho. These students have been diligently working since Grade 9 on the show and have now mounted it to a full length, Broadway style, musical. The show revolves around the war of 1812 and follows both sides of the war, American and Canadian. Show time is at 7:00 pm, in the Drama Room (301). The show runs for around 2 hours, taking place at Port Moody Secondary School. Since the show deals with mature subject matter, such a violence, it may not be suitable for younger viewers.

Drama 9
In this introduction to acting course, you will experience a survey of an array of dramatic forms. From theatre games, to mime, to improvisation, to working with small scenes, to developing and contributing to an end of semester production, you will get an extensive overview of all things dramatic arts. This class will improve confidence speaking in front of others, improve your ability to collaborate, will decrease anxiety in formal presentations, and will aid in communication skills. These acquired skills from Drama 9 are not just valuable in the presentation of dramatic arts but are transferable to all other classes and social engagements.
Drama 11/12
Theatre Performance 11 involves a deeper dive into the dramatic arts. We will take the skills acquired in Drama 9 and work on specifics to improve the caliber of dramatic creations. Students will develop personal and interpersonal skills, acquire techniques for working with script and production detail, and use these in the preparation and presentation of scenes. In addition, students will get a more comprehensive view of offstage roles such as stage managing, lighting design, and directing.
