Thank you for your interest in the IB programme at PMSS. This year, we are using a hybrid application process requiring 4 components.
Applications are now open for completion. Please see below for deadlines for each component.
Late applications will not be considered for participation in the intake assessment.
- Online PMSS IB Application— Demographic Form Submit before 4:00 pm on December 17th.
- Online PMSS IB Student Background— Student Background Form Submit before 4:00 pm on December 17th.

Print and provide to a current teacher. Return to PMSS on January 15th during the in-person intake assessment in a sealed envelope, signed across the seal by the teacher.
- Report Card: Email a PDF copy of the most recent report card by January 31st to PMSSIBreport@sd43.bc.ca.
Please be sure to include the student's name in the subject line of the email.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the intake process for PMSS' IB programme will be different this year than in past years. This mainly impacts our January 15th in-person exam and any future updates of district/provincial guidelines may necessitate changes to our planned process on that day. We ask that interested students and parents remain flexible and periodically check here for updates. In January, specific exam day information will be sent to confirmed applicants who have met the December 17th application deadline.
Please be advised that as a School District 43 programme of choice, for grade 9, priority is given first to Canadian and Permanent Resident students living in SD 43, then to those living outside SD 43, and then to international students.
Each year we may have a limited number of placements available for grade 10 or grade 11 students; for the 2021 intake, we were unable to add any new students to these grades. The procedure for these students will be to apply the same way as grade 9 applicants.
To recover the additional costs of the programme, PMSS will charge a flat fee each year in grade 9 and 10. In grades 11 and 12, we will charge the exam registration and exam fees from IBO.
Unfortunately, based on current restrictions, we will be unable to host in-person information nights this year and will post information on this site.
Determine if the IB Programme is the best choice to meet your secondary school educational needs. There are a wide variety of excellent programmes available to all students of School District 43.

These will open on December 6th and must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 17th, 2021.
Attend your assigned testing session on Saturday January 15th, 2022 at PMSS. Details will be sent to you in January with a final communication before the 14th.
Only applicants who submit applications by the December 17th (4:00 pm) deadline will be permitted to participate in one of the testing sessions. If your application is not received on time, we recommend that you re-apply for the 2023-24 school year.
There will be multiple sessions for students held in our gymnasium, allowing us to maintain appropriate distance between candidates and allowing cleaning between sessions.
All applicants will be expected to wear face masks and bring their own writing implements.
There will only be two assessments for each session:
Mathematics- 30 minutes, general mathematical ability test, not connected to any grade level or curriculum
Writing- 30 minutes, English language response
There are no pre-exam prep materials such as study guides available. Please do not contact PMSS requesting exam specific information or study guides.
All applicants will be contacted as to the status of their applications by email on January 28th at 4 pm. If you do not receive notification, please check your junk mail folder. If you do not receive an email, contact the school on Monday, January 31st. Occasionally, it has been our experience that email address have been misreported on the application.
Successful applicants will confirm their acceptance of the offer by email to PMSS by February 4th, 2022 by 4:00 pm. A non-response to the offer will be understood to be a decline, and we will proceed to the next student on the waitlist.
Course selection for second language and electives will take place online before the end of February- more details to come.
