MONTGOMERY MIDDLE SCHOOL 2025 ACTIVITY DAY OPTIONS
Every year we have a school wide year end activity day. Students can register for one of 5 different activities. Below are the Activity Day options and their cost for Thursday, June 19th
Registration opens: Wednesday, June 11 th
Registration closes: Monday, June 16th
Please read carefully and hold questions until the morning when we have office staff to assist. Please no emails (sorry), call the office. Please complete an absence report for your child if they will not be attending this event.

1. Rocky Point Park and Kayaking - $39
Students will meet at Rocky Point at 9:00am and will have time to play before (and after) their kayaking session. At 10:00, students participating will be taken to the kayak center where instructors will take them on a guided tour of the inlet from 10-12:30pm. This 2.5 hour guided paddle is a relaxing exploration of the Burrard Inlet and the shoreline around Rocky Point Park. Afterwards, students will rejoin the group where they can play in the spray park or playground, use the skate park, grab a bite to eat or ice cream, or play field games for the remainder of the afternoon. Students will need to bring their own lunch and snacks, water bottle, as well as weather appropriate clothing, shoes, sunscreen, hat, personal equipment (scooters, skateboards, balls, etc.)

Transportation: Students will need to be dropped off at Rocky Point at 9:00am and picked up between 2:30-3:00pm

2. Rocky Point Park and Swimming - $7
Students will meet at Rocky Point at 9:00am and will have time to play before (and after) their swimming session. From 10:30-12:30, we have the Rocky Point Pool booked for our school group to enjoy with lifeguards on duty. Afterwards, students will rejoin the group where they can play in the spray park or playground, use the skate park, grab a bite to eat or ice cream, or play field games for the remainder of the afternoon. Students will need to bring their own lunch and snacks, water bottle, as well as weather appropriate clothing, shoes, sunscreen, hat, equipment (scooters, skateboards, balls, etc.)

Transportation: Students will need to be dropped off at Rocky Point at 9:00am and picked up between 2:30-3:00pm

3. Big Splash Waterslides - $50
Students will be picked up at Monty via rented bus at 8:30am and will leave Big Splash at 2pm. Students are expected to arrive back at Monty around 3pm.

Important Details:
-Bring sunscreen, a towel, a water bottle and food to eat or money for the concession.
-Leave valuables at home.
-Wear clothing that is layered, loose and comfortable and bring something warm in case it cools down.

4. Playland - $50
Students will be picked up at Monty via rented bus at 9am and will leave Playland at 2:15pm. Students are expected to arrive back at Monty around 3pm.

Important Details:
-Dress for the weather, wear clothing that is layered and comfortable, wear shoes suitable for walking around (no flip flops or slides)
-Bring sunscreen, a water bottle, a non-perishable lunch, or money for concession stands.
-Leave valuables at home.
5. Belcarra Jug Island Adventure
Teachers: TBD
Number of students: 30
Transportation: Private vehicles, 8 students can travel with teaching staff.
Cost: No cost
The Jug Island Hike is a 5.5km return hike with 100 metres of elevation gain. Depending on your speed, it will roughly take 2 hours to complete with some time to relax and enjoy the beach at the end before returning to Belcarra Park. At the park there are some other small trails to explore and a large grass area for lunch and games.β
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- (Up to an hour) hike to Jug Island for a 30-minute break on the beach before returning to the park.
- Time to explore Belcarra Park trails upon returning from hike.
REQUIREMENTS TO HIKE
- Appropriate hiking clothing (and weather appropriate)
- Closed toe shoes must be worn on trails
- Bring sunscreen, hat, water bottle and lunch/snacks
- Bathing suit and towel for those that want to swim
