A message from Mrs. Kathy Fester, music director,

I hope this message finds you all rested and ready to go for another great year at HWSS. This message is for all concert band, jazz band, string orchestra, music council and music dept. volunteers. Whether you are coming back or are just joining this unique and exciting department, there are some important dates to take note below. Pre-Start of school:

August 30 - Core music council retreat - rsvp Mrs. Fester asap for attendance August 31 - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm - Set-up and organizing for the year - all are welcome to attend and help out with choosing music, get signage up, set up the rooms, plus so much more - lunch will be provided. Please rsvp - NOTE**** parking will be tricky due to filming - you may need to walk are park elsewhere (or the bus). rsvp Mrs. Fester asap.

First day - attendance will be taken:

Sept. 7, Wednesday (first full day of school) Meeting for everyone - mandatory!!!! at the start of lunch in the theatre (bring a bag lunch please) This is when you’ll get your music schedule and information - the particular schedule will not be on your course sheet you receive in advisory. In order to know when and where you are meeting for your music classes, you must attend this meeting.

NOTE*** If you haven’t signed up yet and would like to join, you can do this at this meeting.

NOTE*** If you need to change or remove one of these classes (music classes listed above), this is the meeting to come to.

Dates to book off:

Sept. 22 , Thursday - JAZZ RETREAT - at HWSS - all jazz band students to attend Sept. 24, Saturday - All Beginners and Grade 9 RETREAT - at HWSS - all concert band (as noted) to attend and all string orchestra to attend

All Concert Choir & Vocal Jazz Students:

Please meet in the theater at 8:15 AM on Wednesday, September 7th to receive your choir/vocal schedule (as class times for choir/vocal do not appear on your schedule).
