Principal: Ms. Nicole Daneault
I am thrilled to be at École Glen Elementary and to be a part of this vibrant and welcoming learning community. I have worked as an educator in the Coquitlam School District for the past 26 years. It has been my good fortune to have worked at all age levels and communities, including RC MacDonald, Panorama and Walton Elementary Schools, Kwayhquitlum and Minnekhada Middle Schools, George Pearkes Junior Secondary School, as well as SD43's Staff Development Department. I am also mom to two wonderful teenagers and wife to a fellow SD43 educator. I look forward to working and learning together with the staff, students and parents of the Glen Community.
Glen Elementary has a very rich history. In June, 2014 we celebrated our 100th year as a school. Our state of the art building was opened in 2010 and we look forward to formally opening the addition of four new classrooms. Today our dedicated staff proudly serves approximately 500 students in both French Immersion and English (although our French Immersion program will be migrating to Westwood Elementary over the coming five years). Glen is a multicultural school that welcomes students from around the world. We work in partnership with parents and encourage everyone to get involved in the school in some small way through volunteering. Every person can make a difference. Please feel free to contact me at the school office or at NDaneault@sd43.bc.ca.
Vice Principal: Mr. Michael Bird
I am delighted to be a member of the École Glen Elementary community. Over my 16 years of teaching experience, I have enjoyed a variety of teaching and leadership roles including department head positions, mentoring student teachers, and being and active part of professional development. This is my eleventh year in the Coquitlam School District, after spending five years teaching internationally. My two children also attend schools in Coquitlam. I am enthusiastic in supporting childrens' learning experiences here at Glen and particularly excited to be a part of our school's continuing efforts to develop social and emotional learning and numeracy skills amongst our students.
