SEVERE ALLERGY ALERT! - We have a student attending Birchland who has a SEVERE allergy to peanuts.  It is important to know that if this student is exposed to even small traces of peanuts or nuts of any kind, they may have an anaphylaxis reaction, which is a severe allergic reaction that can cause sickness or death.  We ask that parents refrain from sending any food containing peanuts, including peanut butter, to school.  Our staff has determined that to ensure the safety of this student, this action needs to be a school-wide initiative to ensure the safety of all of our students.
