The University of Toronto is pleased to invite Riverside Secondary to nominate one outstanding student for the 2027 Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship program.
Your nominee for 2027 should be a creative thinker with an exceptional academic record who is recognized as a leader within your school and exhibits the potential to contribute positively to the global community in the future. The candidate must intend to begin university study in September 2027 and must be currently enrolled in full-time academic senior secondary studies or have graduated no earlier than June 2026.
Confirm your eligibility
To be eligible to apply to the Pearson International Scholarship, you must be:
- an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit);
- enrolled in your final year of senior secondary school in 2026/2027 or have graduated no earlier than June 2026; and
- beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2027.

Your nominee for 2027 should be an original and creative thinker, a high achiever in academic and creative pursuits, enthusiastic about learning and intellectual exploration, and committed to their school and community. The candidate must intend to begin university study in September 2027 and must be currently enrolled in their final year of Canadian secondary school.
Your nominee will also be given exclusive access to apply for the University of Toronto National Scholarship Program. To be considered students must apply to the University of Toronto before October 16, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria:
The selection of National Scholars is based on superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional extra-curricular achievement in a broad context. The National Scholarship competition is open to Book Award nominees in their final year of Canadian secondary school. Only Book Award nominees are eligible to apply for the National Scholarship.
The link to the National Scholarship application will be emailed to your nominee after your nomination form is submitted. The deadline for students to submit a National Scholarship application is Friday, October 30, 2026.
Students must apply to University of Toronto by Oct. 16th in order to apply for the National Scholarship.
Wolf Scholars is a transformative scholarship program designed to develop Canada's next generation of thoughtful builders, innovators, and leaders.
Each year, 16 exceptional incoming undergraduates selected from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science and Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering will form a tight-knit cohort. Over four years, Scholars will engage in an enrichment program designed to sharpen their critical thinking skills, foster their intellectual curiosity across disciplines, and prepare them to tackle the challenges facing their generation.
Beyond funded travel and leadership development experiences, Scholars will receive a full tuition scholarship and a meaningful living stipend.
Wolf Scholars (www.wolfscholars.com) is designed to develop future Canadian leaders, builders, and innovators. The Program seeks highly interdisciplinary students with a drive to build and lead, deep intellectual curiosity, and exceptional character. Wolf Scholars is for students applying to U of T's Faculty of Arts & Science (excluding Rotman Commerce) and Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering.

- School Nominations are optional. While they don't guarantee advancement, they do strengthen a student's application
- Schools can nominate up to 3 students — the selection process is entirely at your discretion
- Nominated students indicate they are nominated on their application, which triggers a validation request sent directly to the nominator's email.
- Nominations must be validated by the Wolf Scholars application deadline of November 2, 2026.
- We encourage you to also support interested students who aren't nominated — 40% of our inaugural cohort was not nominated!

We are thrilled to announce that once again this year, we are offering up to 36 Loran Awards to students entering university in the fall of 2027 who distinguish themselves through their strength of character, commitment to service, and intrinsic sense of values-driven leadership. We are accepting applications from now until Thurs, Oct. 15, 2026, at noon ET.
Loran looks beyond grades and gets to know each applicant through an in-depth selection process that is a personal growth experience in itself.
Just applying for the Loran Award is a chance to reflect on your sense of purpose, your contributions to your community, and your goals for effecting meaningful change in the future. It is also a unique opportunity to meet other changemakers like yourself who see the world through a lens of optimism, courage, curiosity, and creativity.
High School Students Must:
- Be entering university for the first time in September 2027.
- Present a minimum GPA of 88%.
- Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Be born between January 1, 2005 and September 1, 2011.

The scholarship is an annual $5,000 award for women residing in British Columbia who are enrolled in, accepted to, or returning to a Business or Finance program at an accredited BC institution. For your students, this means any graduating young woman who has been accepted to a BC business or finance program (or is expected to be accepted) is eligible to apply. The award is open to both high school graduates and current post-secondary students, and is paid directly to the institution toward the recipient's tuition.
Applicants should be interested in a career in the mortgage or finance industry and able to demonstrate financial need. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee based on financial need, a personal essay, career goals, and academic standing.
Application deadline: November 30, 2026
To apply, students submit a personal essay (500 to 750 words), proof of enrollment or acceptance, one reference letter from a teacher, employer, or community leader, and a current transcript to womeninbusiness@capitalwest.ca.

This bursary was established in memory of Tom Finnie, a former M’akola board member. Tom was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who served his country with distinction in the Navy. Throughout his life, he was a committed tradesperson and a tireless contributor to many organizations. He was passionate about sports and served as a senior game swimmer. Additionally, Tom taught cultural activities with School District 71 and travelled as far as Manitoba, sharing his knowledge of drum making, hunting, fishing, and survival.
Annual award amount: $2,500 (six available)
