The MCE is a free event with stops in British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario this July, September and October.

Marine exhibitors will promote shipboard and shore-based careers and training programs. Attendees will have the chance to meet and talk with organizations like the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation and others. There will be public tours of two Orca-class training vessels and CCGS Gordon Reid and interactive activities.

Marine industry careers offer options for every path, including direct-to-work, trades, college, and university. This event is free to attend for all participants.

UBC Department of Orthopedics and BC Children's Hospital program is geared toward female students in Grade 10-12.

Students are invited to attend the annual Fall Women in Orthopedics (WORTH) workshop on Saturday October 17th, from 9 am to 12:30 pm. This workshop is open to all young women in high schools (grades 10-12), including women-identifying individuals and non-binary and gender non-conforming students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and engineering, specifically in orthopedics. We aim to provide more insight and clarity on careers particularly in the areas of orthopedics and engineering.

We have developed a half-day curriculum focused on giving information on different career paths related to Orthopedics specifically, and science and medicine generally.

The workshop will take place at BC Children’s Hospital. There will also be a virtual option.

🎥 MovieMaker Scholarship – Up to $295,000 in Scholarships

The MovieMaker Scholarship is back for 2026, with up to $295,000 CAD in partial scholarships available for aspiring creatives. Scholarships can be applied toward VFS’s one-year Film & Television programs, including Film Production, Acting, Writing, Sound Design, and Makeup Design.

Applications are open now, with a deadline of October 1, 2026. This is a great opportunity to pass along to any students who are considering a career in film and television.

National Portfolio Day is a unique opportunity for emerging artists and designers to share their work with representatives from accredited art and design schools. Students bring their portfolio—finished pieces, works-in-progress or sketchbooks—and receive direct, constructive feedback from faculty or admissions professionals.

This undergraduate event is designed for high school students considering post-secondary art or design studies, college students looking to transfer and anyone preparing to apply to a creative program. Attendees can meet with multiple schools in one place, ask questions about programs, facilities and admissions requirements, and gain insight into how to strengthen their portfolio for success.
