SD43 / Emily Carr University - Head Start to Art - Dual Credit Pathway

Who is this program for? 

  • Current grade 10 & 11 students who are considering studies in visual art, media art, or design
Students can earn high school credit towards graduation and also earn university credit towards an undergraduate degree. 

Eligibility:

  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Must have Eng. 11 or 12 (min. “C” grade)
  • Must have grade 11 or 12 electives (Visual Art 11 & 12 recommended)
  • Overall min. grade 67%.

Course details: 

  • (Foundation 108 – Creative Processes (3 credits)
  • Tuition & Fees: $471.06 + $195.51 = $666.57

SD43/KPU Dual Credit Nursing Prep ProgramFor Students Who Will Be in Grade 12 Sept. 2026:
Dual credit allows students to take post-secondary courses while still in high school.
Students receive high school credit and post-secondary credit. Tuition is FREE!
This is a great opportunity for students interested in a career in nursing.

To qualify for dual credit:

  • You must be at least 18 years or younger by June 30
  • You will graduate from high school June 2027
  • You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Students who register in the Dual Credit program will become part of a cohort for a special semester schedule. See attached information form

Douglas College Field School to Costa Rica

If you register for two first-year Biology courses at Douglas, you can participate in a faculty- led international trip available for first year science students.

It will be scheduled during the reading break so students can take a regular class load without missing classes. 

Limited spots available. The application will open for first year Douglas science students in October 2026. 

  • Science students should take biology 1210 in first semester, then 1110 in the second semester to be able to apply and participate in the field school in second semester.
