The Pinetree Secondary Library is an integral part of the school’s educational program. It reflects and supports the philosophy of the school by sharing and implementing the school’s aims and objectives. In addition to providing materials and services to staff and students, the library plays a positive, active teaching role as an extension to teachers’ classrooms.

We are here to promote literacy and the love of reading, and support the teaching of information literacy to help students develop the skills they need to access, evaluate and use information effectively and ethically to become independent lifelong learners.

The library is open daily from 7:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The library closes at 3:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month for staff meetings.

Students are welcome to come to the library to do research, homework, study, or read. Teachers may also reserve a classroom area, use library resources, and collaborate with teacher-librarians.
