Scholarships, Bursaries and Financial Aid

Class of 2027: Scholarships and bursaries will be added and updated constantly from September to June. Some very early deadlines usually fall into September, but it's definitely worth checking back throughout the school year. Also check the post-secondary institutions you are applying to - deadlines vary. (UBC Entrance Scholarships: December 1, SFU Entrance Scholarships: December 15, but SFU Bursaries are usually due in March/April, Douglas College Scholarships: March 31)

Tomorrow Grant: Scholarships for students pursuing Environmental Studies or Automotive Trades

Tomorrow Grant

Applications are now open for The Tomorrow Grant, offering two $2,500 awards to support students pursuing Environmental Studies and Automotive Trades in British Columbia and Yukon. The program will award: 
  • One $2,500 scholarship to a student pursuing an Environmental Studies program at an accredited BC or Yukon University or College. 
  • One $2,500 scholarship to a student entering an Automotive Trades program through Trades Training BC or an eligible Yukon institution. 
Applications are open until July 15, 2026.

NUPGE ScholarshipsNUPGEThe National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) offers 9 scholarships worth $2,500 each. 
The application deadline is July 15, 2026, at 5 p.m. EDT. 
  • These awards are open to children, grandchildren, and foster children of current or retired NUPGE component members who are pursuing post-secondary education. 
  • Part of the application is composing an essay.

CUPE BC ScholarshipsCUPE BCCUPE BC offers the Aubrey Burton/Reg Ford Memorial Scholarship annually to CUPE members, their spouses or their children. 
  • Four scholarships valued at $1,000 each are awarded to students entering their first year of Post-Secondary education. 
  • Parent, Guardian or Spouse of Applicant, or the Applicant her/himself must be a member in good standing of a CUPE Local affiliated to CUPE BC at the time of application. 
  • Applicant must have completed Grade 12 in the current or previous calendar year, or the applicant must be a mature student who has not previously enrolled at a Post-Secondary Institution. 
  • Applicant must be entering first year of a recognized public post-secondary institution in BC. A copy of the acceptance letter from the admitting institution must be supplied. 
  • Applicant must have a reference letter from their counsellor or the school's principal. 
  • Deadline is July 31, 2026. 
  • SELECTION: One attending a public University (highest GPA). One attending a public Community College (highest GPA). One attending a public trades or technical institution (highest GPA). One based on a lottery draw of all applications.

Disability Credit Canada Scholarship for Canadian Students with DisabilitiesDisability Credit Canada 
  • Disability Credit Canada's mission is to help disabled Canadians receive the full disability benefits they deserve from the Canadian government. 
  • Disability Credit Canada is committed to helping young disabled Canadians achieve their goals in higher education or vocational training towards employment, and is offering the DCCI Scholarship for Canadian Students with Disabilities. 
  • The scholarship will be awarded to a Canadian high school student with a documented disability who is pursuing post-secondary education in health care, criminal justice, or community & social services at an accredited Canadian institution for the upcoming academic year. 
  • Award value: $1,000. Deadline: July 31, 2026.

ASTTBC Foundation High School Bursary (for Engineering diploma programs)ASTTBC Foundation
  • The Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC) Foundation offers an annual bursary to a BC high school graduate entering an applied science or engineering technology diploma program at an ASTTBC recognized program at one of: Brighton College, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Camosun College, College of New Caledonia, Kwantlen Polytech University, North Island College, Okanagan College, Selkirk College, Thompson Rivers University. 
  • The bursary is valued at $1,000 and awarded based on academic standing, financial need, and a student's statement. Deadline: August 14, 2026 at 6:00pm.

Vietnamese Professionals Association: Scholarships & BursariesVietnamese Professionals Association in BC (VPABC)
  • This year, VPABC is offering: 
    • Scholarship Awards - 
    • Four (4) scholarships of $3,000 each for outstanding high school graduates, undergraduate/graduate students, and trade students. 
    • One (1) $3,000 Dr. Julie Nguyen Medical Award for medical students. Bursary Awards (must have financial need)
    • Three (3) bursaries of $1,000 each. 
    • One (1) $1,000 Dr. Julie Nguyen Medical Bursary. 
    • One (1) $1,000 Dr. Kim Chi Medical Bursary (for undergraduate students in science programs intending to pursue medical school). 
    • The program recognizes not only academic achievement, but also leadership, community involvement, and personal resilience. The deadline for application is July 15th, 2026. 
    • Please note, to be eligible for these awards you must be of Vietnamese heritage (at least one parent), OR must have volunteered for at least 1 year with a Vietnamese-Canadian non-profit organization. 
    • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.

RBC Ignite Scholarships (for 2026 grads)RBC
  • The RBC Ignite Scholarship will award 500 scholarships annually valued up to $1,500 each to help youth access new skills and training. 
  • Eligibility: ages 16-20, require financial support to help afford a course, certification or training, Canadian citizen or permanent resident (or proof of status as a Protected Person or Convention Refugee; claimants not eligible). 
  • Course must be 12 months or less, take place between January 1 and December 10, 2026, be upcoming or in progress when applying, be offered in Canada, and be provided by a school/course provider registered in Canada.
  • Application Periods: Cycle 1: January 27 - March 31, 2026 (1pm). Cycle 2: August 6 - September 17, 2026 (1pm). Both cycles may close early if all funds are awarded before the deadlines.

Strike Group Western Canada Inclusion Scholarship (for 2026 grads!)Strike Group Western Canada
  • This $2,000 scholarship intends to promote inclusion by providing a scholarship that is open to all students living in Western Canada. 
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in full-time post-secondary or trades program and maintain satisfactory academic standing throughout the program, provide proof of enrolment (full-time status and proof of payment), and be a person born in Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba). 
  • Applicants must provide examples of how they have been involved in, supported, or given back to their local community. Application opens July 1, deadline September 30, 2026.

U of T Wolf Scholars Program for Faculty of Arts & Science/ St George (Request your nomination by the school)U of T
  • The Wolf Scholars Program is looking for students who demonstrate academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, leadership potential, and strength of character. 
  • Nominations enhance a student's application, but a student may still apply without one; schools can nominate up to 3 students. Check back in September for updated details and deadlines and complete the school's brag sheet to request nomination.
  • Students do not need to know if they are nominated to begin their application, as they can also apply directly. 
  • Schools must validate nominations by the student application date (deadline TBA, plan for some time in November). 
  • Criteria: must be in final year of high school; minimum cumulative 90% academic average in last completed year of high school; must have applied to the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences at the St George campus by the early application deadline (Nov 7) and submit all required documents by the early deadline (TBA).

Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) Scholarship Competition 2026Electronic Recycling Association
  • The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) 2026 Scholarship Competition empowers Canadian students to lead community-based electronic recycling initiatives while gaining marketing, project management, and leadership experience. 
  • Eligibility: full-time or part-time students residing in Canada. Participants develop and execute a marketing plan and organize an electronic waste collection initiative in their community. 
  • Accepted items: laptops, desktop computers, cell phones, tablets, servers, monitors, networking equipment, gaming consoles, and similar electronics. 
  • Not accepted: household/personal electronics, televisions. Timeline: Start April 1, 2026; End November 15, 2026. Prizes: $10,000, $5,000, $3,000, $1,000, $1,000 (each includes a laptop and 3 laptops for charity), plus 5 additional laptop-only + 3 charity laptop prizes (refurbished units).
  • Winners determined by quantity/quality of equipment collected, effectiveness of marketing efforts, and overall organization/execution.
