Neulbom Korean School is seeking Volunteer Assistant Teachers for the 2026/27 school year who are interested in supporting Korean language and cultural education for children. 

Volunteer Responsibilities: assist with classroom setup and preparation; support student learning activities and classroom participation; assist younger students with assignments, crafts, and activities; organize teaching materials and classroom resources; assist teachers with attendance and classroom management; help ensure a safe and positive learning environment; support student arrival, dismissal, and transitions between activities; assist with classroom cleanup and organization after class. 

Eligibility: Grade 9 students or older (minimum age 14); able to communicate in Korean (speaking, reading, and writing); interested in working with children and supporting educational activities; successful applicants may be required to complete a satisfactory Criminal Record Check prior to the commencement of volunteer duties. 

Locations and Schedule: 

BCIT Burnaby Campus - Morning Session 8:45 AM-12:15 PM / Afternoon Session 1:45 PM-5:15 PM;

Douglas College Coquitlam Campus - Afternoon Session 1:45 PM-5:15 PM. 

Applicants may indicate their preferred volunteer placement and availability. Classes are held on designated Saturdays and may not occur every week; no classes on statutory holidays and long weekends. More info here.

The Port Moody Foundation is looking for enthusiastic high school students to volunteer at the PoMo Fall Fair on Saturday, September 26, a free, family-friendly community event bringing together local non-profit organizations, games, and activities.

Volunteer time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Event Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Location: Inlet Theatre Galleria (Traffic Circle) 100 Newport Drive, Port Moody

Volunteers will help with activity booths, welcome and direct attendees, support the Passport Stamp Tour, assist with setup and takedown, and help create a positive and welcoming experience for the community. All volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer orientation session on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Students who attend orientation and complete their full volunteer shift can reach out to our team to receive a personalized Letter of Recommendation and confirmation of volunteer hours from the Port Moody Foundation. Shows are scheduled for October 17th and 18th. We are seeking passionate and curious young people to gain hands-on experience in fashion and event production through various roles, such as social media, photography, backstage work, and front-of-house.

The MoreSports Youth Leadership program trains youth from 13-18 years of age (Grade 8-12) through a process of leadership identification, engagement and development that supports youth as leaders within their community. 

Through school, parks and community partnerships a variety of training experiences with recognized credentials is available at low or no cost. 

Youth leaders come from diverse backgrounds and sport experience, but they all share a passion for working with and helping kids. Aside from facilitating sports programs with an open mindset, Youth Leaders are largely trained in mentorship development; mentoring relationships often naturally occur between Youth Leaders and the children they coach. Volunteer hours and activities are tracked and recorded so each participant is provided with the necessary documentation and references required for future opportunities.

Work location: Seaview Elementary/ Miller Park Community School

Work hours: 2.30 - 5 pm, Tue/Wed/Thu

Commitment: October 5 - December 11 (Fall season). The program restarts January 11

Pay: $25/hourly., subcontractor position (It will be explained in the interview what this means.)

Tasks include set-up, engaging with students in activities, clean-up. Must have a positive attitude, be motivated and punctual. 

*If 18 or older, must pass a CRC, if under 18 a recommendation letter from a teacher is required.

The hiring coordinator is open to hiring more than one student if one student can't commit for all three days.

Moresports BC is a nonprofit organization that delivers afterschool sports and recreation programs, at local elementary and middle schools. Applicants must be in grade 11 or 12 and must have last block off due to the shifts early start at 2.15 or 3 pm (location's dismissal time). Demonstrated time management and communication skills are required. All programs end at 4pm sharp.

Anyone who accepts a position is asked to be available for every shift at a location. Programs run once a week throughout the fall and are usually 10-12 sessions depending on the day of the week/holidays/pro d days. Programs only run if school is in session.
