Clubs

​​Extracurricular activities provide a great opportunity for students to make new friends and develop a sense of belonging. We hope they will learn many meaningful lessons that come from being involved in a school club.

Current Clubs at Monty

  • ROCKS Crew – Mrs. Husband
  • Student Government – Mrs. Husband and Mr. Heinrichs (1 rep per class)
  • Ski and Snowboard Club – Mrs. Beauregard​ and Mrs. Diep
  • Intramural & Sports Council – Mrs. Tuan
  • District Student Leadership - M. Blizzard
  • Green Club -- Mrs. Sievers
  • Sewing Club- Mrs. Rains
  • Chess Club (Tuesdays at lunch)- parent volunteer
  • Cheer Club (2 lunches per week)- Ms. Kuba

Morning Team Announcements 

Students apply the Vice Principal to read some of the morning school announcements each morning on MS Teams. This small team of dependable well-spoken students serve as important ambassadors for our school culture and communication.

ROCKS Crew

This leadership group supports the many school events by acting as ambassadors for the school. They welcome parents at open house and other evening events, welcome new students, help set up school assemblies and many special school events. This group ROCKS Monty.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

A student representative from each advisory meets weekly to give input into how we "govern" Montgomery Middle School. They give important input and feedback on school events, and plan for school improvements in partnership with the school Principal and PAC.

SKI AND SNOWBOARD CLUB

This very popular club participates in skiing at a local mountain during the winter ski season. All students are welcome. A meeting in held in the late fall for sign up and registration. Students travel by bus to and from the mountain.

INTRAMURAL AND SPORTS COUNCIL

The council works with staff to coordinate and referee the very popular noon hour intramural program at Monty. They also work with staff to support the many ongoing sports teams and events that Monty Students participate in. Interested students need to speak to Mrs. Tuan.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Three students are selected as ambassadors for Monty and participate in regular district meetings with other student representatives from across SD43. The SLC helps to shape the culture of School District 43. ​ M. Blizzard sponsors this club in partnership with SD43. 


SEWING CLUB

Students who would like to learn or improve their sewing skills (hand and machine) can join this group every at lunch in the cooking/sewing room with Mrs. Rains. Student should bring their lunch and be prepared for some fun and connection.  Listen to the morning announcements as this club is project based. Students can join at the beginning of any new project approx. 5 throughout the year.

GREEN CLUB

This group of dedicated students help to manage the recycling and composting program at Montgomery Middle School as well as to educate the staff and students about the importance of taking care of our earth by taking care of our waste.


CHEER CLUB

This club meets twice a week at lunch in the mat room to create and practice new routines. Ms. Kuba is the sponsor. 


CHESS CLUB

This club meets weekly on Tuesdays at lunch in the cafeteria beginning at 12:35. Students bring their lunch and play. All levels are welcome and students are welcome to join at any time, simply come out and sign up.  A parent volunteer will welcome you and match you up with someone at your playing level (beginner, intermediate, expert). ​
